So my Party Pucks Launch Party/Table Hockey Tournament on September 22 was in Thornhill at the gorgeous Thoreau Macdonald House and it was an exciting Day of Table Hockey! It was a small multi-board double elimination tournament with a fair number of beginner, intermediate and advanced players. We had a modest turnout so the mentor/coaching plan for pros was not possible, so everyone was able to play. We played majority of the tournament on Stiga and Powerplay II with the final having a surprise twist of being played on the Gretzky Overtime Hockey Game. It was hard fought, but at the end of it we had a final of the Canadian Classic Champion Dave Kraehling Vs. Ricky Sugden, Winner of the C Pool in last year's STIGA Canada Cup and the #1 junior STIGA player in Canada. It was tough, but after 2 close games Ricky, came out on top on the Gretzky. Congratulations to Ricky for being the 2012 Party Pucks Open Champion and Gold Medalist, Dave Kraehling our Silver Medalist and Don Gallant, our Bronze Medalist Along with a Cash Prize, we had a number of great prizes graciously provided by Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, The Anaheim Ducks, STIGA, Party Pucks and Avon.
